(More customer reviews)The first time I tried one of the Bosch TCHS hole cutters with the big side gullet slots I was impressed at how well it worked. It took little while to understand why they are not more popular. Part of the reason I suspect is that you cannot add one of these hole cutters to a hole saw kit you already have as these hole cutters require a special Bosch arbor. You also must use the Bosch 7 inch long pilot bit which is not something you will find in any hardware or building supply store so it is important to have spares.

The case is not bad but it holds fewer hole saws than one would expect due to the fact that their "quick change" mounting tails prevent them from stacking inside one another so only one hole cutter per space in the case.

Sizes are limited but they do cut very fast. I have cut holes in 1/10 the time compared to using any type of bi-metal hole saw. The Bosch TCHS cut well through wood, MDF, Hardie board, fiberglass, and many other non-metal materials.

These are a step up in many ways from the Milwaukee Big Hawq hole cutters but they are surpassed in every way by the new Blue Boar TCT hole cutters. The Blue Boar hole cutters fit on a standard hole saw arbor unlike the Bosch. The Blue Boar hole cutters will stack so you can get up to 12 in a case. The Blue Boar hole cutters come in sizes that are 50% larger than the Bosh hole saws, and the Blue Boar hole cutters will work with any pilot bit whether it is a HSS twist, spade bit, or masonry bit.

Not completely sure about holes per hole cutter but the Blue Boar have 5 tungsten carbide teeth on most sizes but the Bosh have only 4 teeth so I would expect the Blue Boar to last 25% longer than the Bosch. Either type are very big improvement over bi-metal hole saws and will save a lot of time and money. Both the Bosch TCHS and the Blue Boar TCT will rapidly cut through wood, sheetrock, fiberglass, FRP, cement board, MDF, oriented strand board, plywood, backer board, and tropical hardwoods like Ipe.

Because the Blue Boar TCT hole saws mount on regular arbors they can be used with shaft extensions and with the very nice Hole Pro XL shield to trap all the dust and shavings.
