Sunday, December 19, 2010 Bosch 1944LCDK Programmable Heat Gun Kit Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)The Bosch 1944LCDK is precise and easy to use. Not only can you adjust the desired the temperature to settings at every 10 degrees between 120 and 1200 degrees F, but also the desired airflow. The air power range is sufficient for most applications. The 1944 is much more precise (and more versatile) than the old "hair-dryer" style heat guns.
While those old models may have bit higher airflow, they usually have only one, or maybe two, airflow settings.
The fact that the Bosch model allows you to store four different temperature/airflow combinations is also great. For what I do, I've programmed it for shrinking insulation tubing onto low-voltage wire connections, loosening metal parts, and stripping paint.
Another thing I like about this heat gun is that it comes with a case. Many other models do not.
As for the accessory nozzles, the Bosch HG010, HG030 and HG040 nozzles for the 1944LCD are available thru Amazon, and it will also accept Steinel and Milwaukee accessory nozzles, so you can buy only the nozzles that you need, and you can get them thru Amazon
